Dash Radio, the largest all radio platform in the world, interviewed me about my new exciting endeavors as an actress, life coach and content creator. My very first radio interview. Exciting! Lenny and Jake from EL LA were the best hosts to make me feel very welcomed. We had a lot of laughs and one serious moment while talking about superpowers, manifesting men and beautiful places in Asia. Check it out here or search my name on spotify.
And we did it! Paulina Simkin, a dear friend and acting colleague of mine, and I created a fun, empowering and life transformative Youtube series in NYC. Even though we only had a little idea in mind of what we wanted to do, we started with shooting hilarious videos around the city in wonderwoman and sexbomb costumes. Later on I gave her tools in front of the camera on "how to manifest her dream guy" which she immediately applied for her online dates. Of course, she reported back her progress and success in front of the camera. Now it's time to edit all the material. Stay tuned - it's gonna be epic!
Only a few days after I returned from my trip to SE Asia I was back in the recording studio for TAYO THE LITTLE BUS. I couldn't be happier about giving Hana, the bus mechanic, my voice again! The team is amazing and we're having a lot of fun in the studio. And besides dubbing Hana, I'm gathering experience in doing voices for numerous other animated characters like little kids and crying babies, dogs and cats, old people, scared opera singers and mean aliens. I love it!
April - June 2018
And I did it! I fulfilled another dream of mine. Backpacking in South East Asia for 3 months. Just letting myself go with the flow and being open to what the universe had to offer me. And that was a lot! I learned so much. About myself and the world. Wonderful experience of infinite value.
And the German VOICE OVER work continues. This time it's for an eLearning program offered by the HubSpot Academy. If you're interested in inbound marketing and sales strategies, check it out and you might hear me explaining it to you.
What amazing news to start the new year 2018 with. I won BEST ACTRESS for the short FAITHFUL at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival AND at the LA Short Awards. Two awards?!? Wow! Pinch me please.
Yes! I got cast as one of the lead characters in the animated Kids TV Show TAYO THE LITTLE BUS (Netflix, Hulu) for the German market. I can't wait to give Hana, the friendly fun bus mechanic, my voice. Hurraaaa :-D
What have I been up to since my move to LA? What am I doing right now and what am I planning to do next? I'm also looking for some great ambitious talented collaboratos to join my team. And opportunities for you to tease me and others;-) Who can possibly resist this? Here you go: TEASELETTER

Yes, you read correctly! I'm training to become a stunt woman. After my experience in Taekwondo in Germany I've been waiting for the moment to start kicking again. And stunt class is perfect for it: Power Workout and martial arts combined with acting skills and a great, ambitious, powerful acting community. If you are in LA and are interested in Stunts as well, check out XMA - Extreme Martial Arts in North Hollywood. See you there! Haaaya!
After 3 years not being able to, I finally did it again - attending my favourite film event - the Cannes Film Festival. Apart from enjoying the red carpet screenings of YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE by Lynne Ramsay, IN THE FADE by Fatih Akin, GOOD TIMES by the Safdie Brothers and L'AMANT DOUBLE by François Ozon, I've met some great people from all over the world (Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, Russia) and got inspired by there passion and ambition. The most important thing what I learned was "don't stress yourself with meticulous schedule planning and go with the flow". This advice is mostly for actors. Pick one event to start with and let it go from there. You always run into people you've never expected to meet or get to know. Here's one of numerous coincidents: At a screening event I ran into a crew member of the thriller short film FAITHFUL I had shot in LA just a week before Cannes. Next to her was sitting a producer from NYC I met at the Tribeca FF this year, on the other side was sitting a showrunner I know from LA and behind her was my acting friend from France saving a seat for me.
And sometimes it's really worth it to fight against traffic and public transportation breakdowns to make it to the Callback even though you're faaar too late. I booked the role! It's the lead role in this amazing thriller short film FAITHFUL which is directed by Niklas Berggren, a talented Swedish film maker. Smart script, unexpected turn-arounds and emotional depth - sounds like a great project, right?! Check out the teaser. More info to come.
That's what I was waiting for - playing a tough role with vulnerable cracks. Maxwell Morro and his amazing team made it possible! SCOPE OF RED/ROTE STILLE is part of a poetic art short film trilogy using 3 different languages - German, French and English. Perfect for an international actress like me - yay!
Exiciting news! I just finished shooting my second short which I wrote, produced and starred in. But hey, the people I've met so far in LA made it very easy. It took me only 2 weeks to get it all organized. Big thank you to the amazing team Josua Fischer, Nadine Kübler and Luca Nicora. And a call to other actors - stop waiting and start creating your own films.
I can't believe that this happened... As a newcomer in the film industry and only one month in LA I received an invitation to the official Oscar Viewing Party of the German film TONI ERDMANN nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. Cast and crew as well as the German press was there at this spectacular location which allowed a phenomenal view over the city. Meeting Sandra Hüller - lead actress of the film and one of my German acting idols - as well as the writer and director Maren Ade was my highlight of the event. And who needs to win an oscar to prove that it's still an exceptional piece of art and a mustsee?! Have a look at the trailer of TONI ERDMANN.
And booked! My first commercial since I moved to LA this January. I had the pleasure to shoot for Inhance Digital in front of a green screen. The final product will be me as an avatar on a computer screen for people to click on me for further information - funny, right?! I can't wait to see and click. Let's keep those awesome jobs in LA coming!
The new year starts with exciting news: I'm moving to Los Angeles. New York City has taught me a lot about the craft and finding my heart in it, and it's still one of my favourite cities in the world, no doubt, but after having spent last summer in LA it feels like the right thing to do. Getting cast in 4 short films, a commercial and a theater play in only three weeks was unbelievably exciting - I didn't see that coming at all. Plus the amazing open-minded people I've met, the healthy and conscious lifestyle I started here and - of course - the good weather which also had a huge impact on my acting skills - sounds weird, but it's true- and not to forget the fun Uber rides with the most inspiring life stories. How could I not have chosen LA after this experience?! So here I am, equipped with an updated work permit and ready for a new adventure.
Oh, I have exciting news to announce. My favourite German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung published an article about my career in America with the title "Munich actress in exile - New life with exclamation mark". I feel very honored to be featured in their print and online newspaper.
After three wonderful and exciting months in Los Angeles I'm heading back to Europe to attend several Film Festivals (BFI London, Hofer Filmtage, Zurich Film Festival, Munich Filmschool Fest, International Short Film Fest in Berlin) to do what I love - networking - and, of course, see my family and friends again after two years. But no hard feelings, I'm planning to continue this amazing journey as an actress in America. If I may state Arnie Schwarzenegger: I will be back.
We received an amazing review for our show PARK PLAYS at the Actors Workout Studio from Nohoartsdistrict.com: "The Actors Workout Studio has created a safe space for these actors and writer to produce these truthful qualities, and in an entertaining and moving way." Click here for the whole review.
Be alert: My LA stage debut is coming up. My wonderful acting partner Jim Victor and I are going to perform the beautiful play RIDE FOR LIFE by Chris Karmiol at the Actors Workout Studio in North Hollywood three weekends in August starting Friday, August 12th. Tickets and details here: https://
I'm so happy to be featured in one of Munich's leading newspapers MÜNCHNER MERKUR. How I got started in America and what my future plans are, find out here. A huge thank you to Peter Seybold who did a fantastic job with writing it.
After being in LA for just a month I've been cast in 4 short films! Isn't that incredible?! One of them is called TALE OF MADNESS with a beautiful script by the talented filmmaker Thomas G. Monstellato from France. I'm playing a tough detective who interrogates God. Very intesting, I tell you! I'll keep you posted regarding the screening.
I'm excited to tell you about my infomercial shoot for SIMPLISAFE with the Oscar winning director Robert D. Port. The first Oscar winning director I've worked with! This can happen only in Los Angeles. In the picture I was posing in my special agent outfit with the executive Producer Chris Strand. Life is good!
"What happens when an 19th century German immigrant (Justin Phillips) attends a casting with a modern day casting director (Clarissa Hoffmann)? Hilarity, that's what, from two outstanding actors." (Charles Hare, AWoW Founder) AWoW Review
We received a great review for our performance of the short comedic play "John" by Jodie Leidecker at the AWoW May Showcase. It was an honor to share the stage with amazing artists and musicians like Pianist Alexander A. Wu (Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall), singer Andrea Diaz and poet Allison Sylvia. For anyone interested, AWoW is holding Showcases every month at the Cell Theater. For more info visit the AWoW Website.
We'll do it again and we're featured in PLAYBILL! Justin Phillips and I are going to perform Jodie Leidecker's comedic short play "John" at the ARTISTS WITHOUT WALLS MAY SHOWCASE. Artists like Violinist Deni Bonet (recorded and performed with R.E.M., Sarah McLachlan, Cyndi Lauper, Scissor Sisters), Jazz pianist John Ambrosini and saxophonist Premik Russell Tubbs (performed with Lady Gaga, Sting, Whitney Houston, Carlos Santana, Jackson Browne and James Taylor) have performed at the AWoW Showcase before. Great news! The Equity Library Theater Winter Play Festival invited me to perform a comedic short play "John" by Jodie Leidecker on February 13th, 2pm at the Equity Library Theater. The story is about a German immigrant from the 1800s who emigrates to New York to become a comedic Broadway actor. Ironically I will playing the American casting director and the talented (American) Justin Philips will play the part of the German immigrant John. I promise you, it's going to be a lot of fun!
Wanna see me playing a nun? SINFUL JOY is a commercial we produced for the Doritos Crash the Superbowl Ad Contest. Such a fun shoot! Check it out at: crashthesuperbowl. If you like it, give a 5- STAR RATING so that it will be shown during the Superbowl 2016.
Oh, what an amazing promo shoot I had for the new wellbeing company Wellns! Starting with the amazing director Agnieszka Vosloo (her first feature film was with Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci and Justin Long), an amazing beach location in the Hamptons and an amazing crew. I'm back - on stage! This is when my heart does a double jump! I'm thrilled to announce that I will perform as the lead in ONE HAND CLAPPING IN THE WIND at the iconic Manhattan Rep Theatre. Being part of the Fall One Act Play Competition, this serio-comic play by Nicholas Rey deals with the need of redesigning our romantic relationships according to our today's rapidly changing society. Alongside the enormously talented actor and friend Brooks Kaya, I will embody the character Alice who is about to break up with her boyfriend Ted. Facebook

Wonderful projects are coming my way! The film will be shot in a paper factory in Brooklyn this July and the show will take place in the fall. I'll keep you posted for details!
Flying high on the One World Trade Center: The tallest building in the Western hemisphere just inaugurated its observatory in May and yet I'm shooting a commercial in the Skylobby upon the 64th floor. What better location is there?! A big Thank you to the fantastic directors Andrew and Remy Neymarc and their fabulous team of Neymarc Visuals. I'll keep you posted when it's been released!
I'm thrilled to announce that I got cast in the lovely feature film TANGO SHALOM! It's based on a true story about a Hasidic Jew who struggles with his beliefs, family and community, in order to realize his dream of dancing the tango. Yes, following your dreams isn't that easy... but totally worth it!

"It's very German, isn't it?" - funnily enough, that's one of my lines as Irina Arkadina, the famous actress, in the new modern version of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. And another short film with the renowned New York University! Alongside the great actress Kasia Glinka I had the chance to star in Audrey Luciani's PALINDROME following Ingmar Bergman's PERSONA. Very experimental and thrilling! I can't wait to see the result!
"Melody Erfani's play 97 Orchard St, created with writers Laura Jo Hess and Alexander Koo, and composer J.P. Makowski, imagines the history of cultural change in the Lower East Side as a sort of balletic musical chairs. Erfani's direction of the piece focuses on what this type of change might look like rather than trying to explain by using the common discourse. It's most effective because it transcends the noise that is heard daily on blogs and newspapers about neighborhoods being culturally destroyed. 97 Orchard Street is now better known as the address of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum."
